Vasily Shpak, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, proposed creating cybertroops in Russia and providing them with state orders.

According to RIA Novosti, Shpak believes that in this way Russian developers could get a job and develop their patriotic qualities, as well as benefit the country. This, according to the official, will stop the outflow of IT personnel abroad.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden suggested that Russia would respond to anti-Russian sanctions with cyberattacks. US presidential adviser on cybersecurity Ann Neuberger said that if Russia initiates a cyberattack against the US, Washington will respond. Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov replied that Moscow, unlike Western countries, “does not engage in banditry” at the state level.

Recall that on February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in the Donbass. In his speech, he stated that “circumstances require decisive action from Russia” and stressed that “Russia will not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons.” In response to Russia’s actions, Western countries (USA, Canada, EU, UK, Japan) announced new, tougher sanctions against the Russian Federation, including financial and economic ones.
