Until January 12, 2023, the National Registry of the Secretariat of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (Senescyt) will be available to access universities and polytechnic schools.
The platform is www.registrounicoedusup.gob.ec., and it is a mandatory step for those who wish to participate in the admission mechanisms of each university and public polytechnic school.
This will allow each of them to have official and unified information on the applicants.
Some 50,000 people have already registered on the platform to access higher education in 2023
The 2023 admission process is divided into three phases:
-First phase: national registration, from December 29, 2022 to January 12, 2023.
-Second phase: admission process at each university and polytechnic school, between January and March.
-Third phase: acceptance of the quota by the applicants, between April and May.
Andrea Ibáñez, Undersecretary of Higher Education, mentioned that of the 31 universities and polytechnic schools, 21 are ready for their internal processes, with the exception of 10 that have requested support from Senescyt.
He explained – in an interview in sonorama radio– That the stages are contemplated within the regulation, but the mechanism is under the power of those entities.
These are the last ten university or higher degrees created in Ecuador and they are in Guayaquil, Joya de los Sachas, Quito, Babahoyo and Azogues
He specified that the regulations establish that a quota must be granted based on an evaluation, taking into account the academic trajectory of high school graduates, that is, the grades they obtain, and the affirmative action scores, such as vulnerability groups. .
Only those who have completed the National Registry within the established dates may participate in the admission mechanisms as well as in the following phases. (YO)
