The new admission process for universities and polytechnic schools will have six steps in 2023, once the Secretary of Higher Education (Senescyt) will no longer take charge of that process and transferred it to each entity.
As reported by that government secretariat, there will be a national registry, which is a mandatory step to access higher education next year.
High school graduates must register from December 29, 2022 to January 12, 2023, at www.registrounicoedusup.gob.ec.
The second step is the registration that will be carried out by each higher education institution.

If the institution chosen by the applicant requested support from Senescyt for the process, the registration will be on the same platform, he said.
The evaluation is the third step and is carried out by each university or polytechnic school.
The Senescyt mentioned that if the institution chosen by the applicant asked for support for the process, the evaluation will be on the platform developed for this purpose.
The fourth step is the application that the applicant will make with the institution in which he enrolled.

The fifth step is the acceptance of the quota and all applicants must accept the quota at registrounicoedusup.gob.ec
The last step is the registration for those who have a quota.
They must enroll directly at the institution where they obtained it.
Andrea Montalvo, head of the Senescyt, in an interview in allytv, pointed out that with the national registry a unique and official profile of the applicant will be formed. It will contain data from the Social Registry if it has vulnerability, Civil Registry, high school grades.
Then, students will be able to complete the admission process according to the mechanism established by each university or universities.
Then the entities will make the admissions, notify the Senescyt, and the young people will define which university they will enroll in if they opted for several.
