A tanker was used by drug traffickers to transport drugs. The Police made the seizure in the Olmedo sector, in Guayas.

The blocks were with a black wrapper and initials J777. These codes are used by drug gangs.

The Police indicated that they are continuing the investigations to find those responsible and the origin of the illegal shipment seized.

Fausto Salinas, Commander of the Police, said that this is the positive result of the permanent operations of the Police units. “Today a tanker was found with a thousand packages of controlled substances in Guayaquil,” he said on Twitter.

So far this year, more than 190 tons of drugs have been seized in different provinces of the country.

Part of the seized drug has been detected in the ports when it was intended to be sent to other countries disguised as export cargo.

In the last few days, 9 tons of drugs were seized. These days, an Anti-narcotics dog helped detect 1.5 tons of drugs in Guayaquil that were camouflaged in a load of cocoa.

That export shipment was destined for the Netherlands. (YO)
