Five new ways to decorate the Christmas tree

The boxes with the decorations of Christmas that most families keep in their closets are dusting off, because the month of December is approaching, and with it all the Christmas spirit of the holidays.

One of the biggest traditions of homes that celebrate Christmas is decorating the tree. It’s a fun activity for children, who enjoy hanging the ornaments, and for adults who can get creative coming up with ideas to enhance the tree.

Six Ways to Create Family Christmas Traditions

If you want to stand out at the holidays this year, here are five innovative ways to decorate the Christmas tree. You can also combine them with the decorations of the rest of your house.

Traditional styling, with a twist

If you prefer to keep the classic Christmas colors on your tree: green, red and gold, this idea is perfect for you. The first step, after assembling the tree, is to place the lighting. Arrange the wires so that they are hidden among the branches and are evenly distributed.

Then you can add the larger decorations. Red and green flowers, or ribbons that are entwined from the bottom up. In the spaces that remain empty, be sure to fill with the balls of the colors you want and of different sizes. To give it a twist, you can put personalized and special ornaments on the tree for your family. Don’t forget to finish with an ornament at the top, like a star or an angel.

the snowy tree

In many Nordic countries, Christmas is celebrated in the cold and snow. For this reason, some people like to imitate the appearance of a snowy tree, with colors of silver and white.

First the lights are placed, twinkling white throughout the tree. Then the larger ornaments are added: flowers, stars and ribbons that go around the branches. In the empty spaces you can add metallic, pearl, white or silver balls. Any other decoration in this color will highlight the winter effect.

Finally, very carefully so as not to dirty the floor, artificial snow is poured on the branches of the tree and it will be ready for the holidays.

a sweet christmas

This is probably the most fun decoration for the little ones in the house. It’s all about decorating the tree with Christmas items reminiscent of sweets, like gingerbread men, gingerbread houses, and candy canes.

After assembling the tree and placing the lights between the branches, you can begin to carefully place the ornaments, which are not made of real candy. The decorations can be of different colors and sizes, and to be more creative, the children can create their own.

pink christmas

If you want to celebrate the most modern and chic Christmas, we recommend decorating your tree with pink colors. As in the previous models, the first thing to do is to assemble the tree and the lighting. You can choose pink or white lights to complement the tree.

Then choose ribbons and ornaments in different variations of pink. Don’t forget to fill the empty spaces with smaller decorations, such as metallic balls, stars, flowers or snow canes.

For a more realistic touch, pour artificial snow over the branches of the tree.

a classic touch

For those who prefer a more classic, simple and elegant style, a tree in golden tones is the one. What is most striking about this tree is that it is not full of decorations and ornaments, but rather lights and ribbons stand out.

Remember only to highlight the golden elements, such as stars or candles, and place some ribbons around it to make the tree more lush. (F)
