They assassinated 16-year-old Jhonny CM with several bullet wounds, next to the door of the San José Benito Cottolengo Catholic Church, in the El Arenal neighborhood, next to the banks of the Esmeraldas River.
The homicide happened at 6:00 p.m. this Sunday, as reported by the Esmeraldas District Police.

The witnesses preferred not to give many details, only that the teenager was playing soccer on a sports field in the sector.
Police indicated that unidentified individuals shot the victim several times, which caused his death next to a lead-colored metal door of the Cottolengo church. The murderers fled the scene after committing the crime.
The blood stains on the floor and on the church door and a pair of the victim’s slippers remained as evidence of this new crime.
This targeted homicide occurred in the same sector where Lorenzo Martínez Erazo, approximately 28 years old, cousin of Frickson Erazo, candidate for mayor of Esmeraldas, was shot to death last Sunday, November 13.

While the night of the previous Saturday, Alfonso Montaño Hurtado died from gunshot wounds. Witnesses indicated that subjects shot him at a service station at the entrance to the 15 de Marzo neighborhood, in the south of Esmeraldas.
While on the afternoon of Friday the 16th, the body of an unidentified man, approximately 26 years old, was located on the side of the E15 south Esmeraldas – Atacames highway and about 150 meters from the roundabout of the Virgin of Santa Rosa de Lima, in Tonsupa .
The deputy chief of the Muisne – Atacames Police District, Francisco Vinueza Miranda, reported that the corpse did not initially show injuries or physical aggression. (YO)
