Lasso warns against exposing and bringing “before the court of public opinion” judicial officials who obstruct justice

“This Government will never make the mistake of running over the Judiciary. We support all the good judges, which there are in Ecuador. However, those bad officials who hinder justice, instead of serving it, will be exposed. Those who obstruct justice, instead of upholding it, will be brought before the court of public opinion where they will have to answer.

Those were the words that President Guillermo Lasso said, on Thursday night, through a national channel.

The president expressed his dissatisfaction with the rulings of judges that order the release of alleged criminals detained by the Police.
