It is unprofitable for Washington to stop supporting Kyiv, especially on the eve of the presidential elections in the United States, but still this can happen after 2023, said Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the office of the President of Ukraine.

At the same time, Arestovich believes that US support for Ukraine will not decrease in the near future, RBC reports. “They cannot afford a second Afghanistan. Anyone who refuses to support Ukraine will obviously lose the presidential election,” he stressed.

In addition, in his opinion, leaving Kyiv without help, Washington may also lose its allies in Asia, as they will “run across” to China, which “promises that it will never leave”. In addition, the United States cannot refuse to support Ukraine for ideological reasons, since they consider themselves “the guarantor of stability in the world,” Arestovich added.

“I can’t imagine a situation where support for Ukraine is stopped, on the contrary, it is getting stronger. Maybe they will, of course, but after 2023. For 2023, we will cope, it seems to me, ”the politician said, adding that for the next year Ukraine has already“ been given a budget ”.
