Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a video message on the occasion of the Day of the security worker, called on counterintelligence officers, including the military, to “maximum concentration and concentration of forces.”

“It is necessary to strictly suppress the actions of foreign intelligence services, to quickly identify traitors, spies and saboteurs,” he said. According to him, it is necessary “not to relax attention in such an important area as the fight against extremism.” The Russian leader called “militant nationalism, calls for violence, provocations aimed at inciting ethnic hatred” a direct threat to the “internal unity of Russian society”, which must be “immediately suppressed.”

Among the main priorities of the work of all special services, primarily the FSB, the president named the fight against terrorism and called for “systematic and offensive” work to prevent terrorist attacks.

Putin also instructed to intensify work to protect the state border, which should be “reliably covered.” Attempts to violate it must be stopped “quickly and effectively,” he stressed.
