El Carmen, MANABÍ

A cocaine shipment was detected in the rural area of El Carmen, Manabí, on Tuesday night.

The drug was found in the San Pedro de Suma parish, on the Pedernales road, km 14. In that place, the National Police, in coordination with the Military Intelligence Command and other units, carried out the operation called Bledo.

There a collection center was found and it is presumed that the alkaloid was sent to different provinces. The police seized two tons of cocaine, a truck-type vehicle and a van, according to Yacksson Ross Moreira, head of the national anti-drug investigation unit with European coordination.

Shooting in the Quevedo cemetery, on the afternoon of this Tuesday, caused fear among citizens who visited deceased relatives

The collection center would belong to a narco-criminal cell, which was established in a rural area with difficult access in the parish of El Carmen.

The previous data determine that this sector would have been selected due to its geographical condition, which would facilitate the distribution and shipment of scheduled substances subject to control to the different provinces and their main ports and airports.

The alkaloid was in black sleeves and the blocks had stamps of the presumed narco-criminal cell. The drug was camouflaged under the ground.

The Police estimated that the seized drug is equivalent to 20 million doses. (I)
