A claim for an alleged debt would have been the cause for Juan Carlos RP to make two wounds with a knife to Daniel Gerardo Contreras Angulo, 49 years old. Due to the severity of the injuries, the man died.
The incident occurred last Tuesday afternoon in the Tarqui de Manta parish, and according to the first investigations, the two men had been drinking since last Monday. Presumably, the victim owed money to Juan Carlos R., for which the latter claimed him.
The two people are of Venezuelan origin and rented the apartment where the incident occurred. Both were engaged in informal commerce in Manta, a city in which they had been living for about six months.
