The draft decree of the President of the Russian Federation, which describes the mechanism for counteracting the price ceiling for Russian oil introduced by the EU countries, has been generally agreed upon. Vedomosti writes about this, citing sources.

According to the interlocutors of the publication, the document, in particular, states that it is forbidden to sell oil in cases where the contract specifies a country that has joined the ceiling as the recipient, or if the contract contains the ceiling as a condition or sets reference prices equal to the ceiling – $ 60 per barrel.

The decree also contains a clause that allows you to circumvent any prohibitions on transactions – with the permission of the government.

The document will be valid until July 1, 2023 with the possibility of extension.

The corresponding decree is still being finalized in the presidential administration.

The other day, the press secretary of President Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Peskov, said that the text of the decree would be published “in the coming days.”

Recall that the EU countries have previously agreed on a price ceiling for Russian oil. It was decided to set such a limit at $60 per barrel with subsequent adjustment every two months. Countries such as Croatia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Bulgaria will be able to buy oil from the Russian Federation at a higher price.
