A merchant was kidnapped at 05:00 this Friday, December 2, in the El Fortín sector, in Nueva Prosperina, by six men who arrived on three motorcycles.
They threatened him with weapons and got into the victim’s car to take him away, explained Colonel Fabary Montalvo, deputy commander of Zone 8 (Guayaquil, Durán and Samborondón).

To free him, the kidnappers asked his relatives for $10,000.
They sent photographs of the victim to the kidnapped brother and threatened to kill her if payment was not made.
The National Directorate Specialized in the Resolution of Kidnapping and Extortion Cases (Unase) intervened and at approximately 7:00 p.m. the place of captivity where the handcuffed victim was was discovered and a rescue operation was coordinated.
