“This will not go unpunished and the message will be forceful from us, from the State,” says the director of SNAI after the murder of a prison official

As of December 1, the 1,300 prison officers began to report to the country’s prisons to begin their work.

The new agents graduated days ago in a ceremony held in Quito, in which President Guillermo Lasso participated.

During this personnel distribution process, Guillermo Rodríguez, director of the National Service for Comprehensive Care for Adults Deprived of Liberty (SNAI), rejected the murder of Santiago Loza, who was in charge of the El Inca prison.

The director of the El Inca prison in Quito is assassinated, where a few days ago there were riots

“This will not go unpunished and the message will be forceful from us, from the State,” he said energetically.

Rodríguez called Loza a martyr, a brilliant police officer, a devoted father and an exemplary citizen.

The official said that it is time for the country to align itself and ask itself if it wants a country bowed to crime, drug trafficking, violence, or a country with a good future.

“That we do not cover up, that we do not cover these people, these criminals, who think that outside the law they can kill and nothing happens (…). It’s time to be together,” Rodríguez said.

Who was Santiago Loza, the murdered director of the El Inca prison and who had only been in prison for 3 weeks?

The SNAI director indicated that there are people inside the prisons who want second chances, who want rehabilitation, but there are other criminals who want to do what they want.

“Those people who are on the outside, who believe they have control, who with their criminal economies want to continue maintaining their status quoLet them do it: they are wrong,” he said. (YO)
