The subject “Fundamentals of the Spiritual and Moral Culture of the Peoples of Russia” will be introduced in Russian schools from 2023 for grades 5-9, TASS reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Education.

Earlier, the foundations of the spiritual and moral culture of the peoples of Russia were introduced into the compulsory part of the program for the fifth – ninth grades from September 1, 2015 in the form of a subject area. Her teaching is aimed at developing the personality of students, familiarizing students with Russian traditional spiritual and moral values, including the corresponding cultural values of their ethnic group, the rules and norms of behavior in society, the concept of the subject area says.
