More than 20 neighborhoods in the north of Quito woke up without drinking water service this Thursday, September 15. The Municipality reported that due to the resurfacing work on Giovanni Calles and Luis Vaccari streets, the El Carmen-Oyacoto pipeline was affected.

From 07:00 the residents were surprised by the shortage of water without prior notice. The pipe broke during resurfacing work, it was reported.

The Metropolitan Public Company for Potable Water and Sanitation (Epmaps) indicated that the repair will last approximately 24 hours.
In addition, he indicated that the service will be restored gradually once the work has been completed. This could take up to the following days, it will depend on the level of the water tanks and its recovery at the optimal levels to distribute the liquid.
The municipal company has assigned tankers so that the neighborhoods can be supplied with water while the service connection is recovered. (YO)
