In 24 hours, three murders were registered in the Ventanas canton; there is citizen concern

When Rodney Naranjo and Stalin Loor were having sex with other people, hitmen on motorcycles came up to them to inflict several bullet wounds on them and then flee.

This double crime occurred around midnight on Monday outside a home located in the El Guabo sector, a few meters from the Ventanas general cemetery, in the Los Ríos province.

Although Naranjo was taken to the Jaime Roldós Aguilera hospital in the town, he died a few minutes later; while the other victim died at the scene.

A relative of the first mentioned victim deplored the event in the midst of sadness. “He was a healthy and hardworking man, he was just in the wrong place and time. He was a collateral victim. I ask the Police to investigate the crime, ”said the relative.

Naranjo, 21, was the son of a union leader from the Ventanas taxi driver. She earned a living working on banana plantations and left an orphan under 18 months old, her relatives said.

Agents of the National Police who inspected the crime scene said preliminarily that, apparently, it was a settling of accounts, and that the investigations are continuing to find the whereabouts of the murderers.

Another hit man

This case has shocked the population of Ventana, since it occurs 24 hours after Nicolás Vera Rodríguez, also a native of that canton, was murdered by individuals who were riding on a motorcycle when he was talking with some friends in the doorway of his house.

This crime occurred on the night of Sunday, October 31, between Quito and Rocafuerte streets in the Las Malvinas sector.
