They kill a Venezuelan with a knife in Manabí

MANTA, Manabi

With two stab wounds, a citizen of Venezuelan origin was killed this Tuesday afternoon, in moments that he shared with other people. The first hypothesis of the police is that the cause of the attack would be a compatriot of the deceased.

The incident occurred in an apartment located on 109 avenue, between 105 and 106 streets, in the Tarqui de Manta parish.

Patricio Armendariz, chief of the Manta police district, indicated that police officers who provided security in the cemetery of this parish (located three blocks from where the homicide occurred), were alerted to the incident, and when they arrived at the place they observed the body of an inert person with two stab wounds.

“Inside the department blood stains were found, it would be presumed that there was a wound there,” said Armendariz.

The police chief stated that the injured person fled the department seeking help, but that presumably when he had already come down from the building he would have received the second knife wound from his perpetrator, who was arrested after the fact.

Gínger Mesías, the Manta prosecutor on duty, confirmed the Venezuelan nationality of the people involved.

“What they tell us is that there were people drinking alcohol and there has been a fight between them. A person is apprehended … according to the police, they found a weapon, a knife, “said the prosecutor on duty.
