Truck parked on a slope while loading wood rolled and crushed a person

In less than 24 hours, four people died in traffic accidents in different sectors of Portoviejo, between Friday afternoon and early Saturday morning.

The first road event occurred around 4:00 p.m. on Friday in the Alhajuela parish, when two people suffered an accident in a truck that arrived in that rural Portoviejo parish in search of wood that is incinerated in the making of bricks in the commune. The truck had been parked on a descent and the two people were loading the wood, but the vehicle rolled over. People tried to stop the car from moving, but it ended up running over them.

Delgado was crushed by the car, so Portoviejo firefighters had to carry out several actions to remove the body of the deceased.

The second accident occurred around 05:00 this Saturday on the Portoviejo-Crucita road, in which Damián Pilligua Zambrano, 21, died, who suffered the mishap when he was riding a motorcycle.

And after 06:30, at kilometer 1 of the Portoviejo-Montecristi road, near the San Jorge citadel, Wilson Paladines, 21, died after being run over when he was on a bicycle tour. The driver of a van is involved in this incident.

The fourth accident was between a van and a motorcycle, which was registered at 09:30 this Saturday on the Manabí Guillem highway, in the west of Portoviejo. There the victim was Carlos Julio Medranda Medranda.
