High blood pressure puts more work on the heart and blood vessels, making them work harder and less efficiently. This causes the lower left chamber of the heart (left ventricle) to thicken, increasing the risk of heart attack, failure and sudden cardiac death.

Sleep quality: Focus on both the quantity and quality of your sleep, aiming for six to eight hours of uninterrupted sleep per night.
