After the statement on Thursday, July 14 by the organization of the Pure Madrid Reggaeton Festivalin which they indicated that the Community of Madrid did not authorize the celebration of the same, all the doubts of the spectators who were going to attend about what was going to happen with their tickets, caused the outburst of people through social networks.
To this is added that days before, the organizers communicated through their social networks a very sudden change that would alert everyone: they decided to change the venue. Initially, the event was to be held in The magic Boxbut, with less than two days in advance, they communicated the transfer to the stadium Wanda Metropolitanat the other end of the city, with more than 14 kilometers of distance between one and the other.
Seeing that the criticism did not stop raining on the publication that they had uploaded to their Instagram account, decided to restrict public comment leaving everyone with many unanswered questions.
People have been on edge during these two days due to the silence on the part of the organization of the festival. The doubt that has arisen the most among those who were going to attend the event is what will happen to the tickets. After a long wait, the organization has uploaded an official statement from its Instagram account indicating that “in the next few days they will open the deadline for the return and will give all the information to do it”.
Regarding the tickets sold, “to claim the amount of the tickets it is necessary to do it in writing to the organizers of the event. Those who bought the tickets have the right to a refund of their amount”, as the OCU explained to laSexta. It should not be forgotten, however, that on many resale websites returns are practically impossible.
Furthermore, adding to this problem the money that people who came from outside Madrid have spent to enjoy the event; expenses such as hotels, transportation, etc… According to the OCU, “expenses related to the concert could be claimed from the organizers, but if we do not receive a response in our favor from them, it would be necessary to claim through a procedure judicial”.
But in each case it would be a judge who would decide whether or not that compensation is appropriate. It is advisable save all related invoices and receipts to these expenses in order to claim. In addition, if the amount to be claimed is less than 2,000 euros, a lawyer or solicitor is not necessary.
Another question that, from the OCU, they consider important is “to find out if the organizing company is adhered to the alternative dispute resolution systembecause this route could be more agile and less burdensome”.
