ATRESplayer PREMIUM continues betting on original production and this Sunday, July 10, premieres ‘queens to the rescue‘. It is a new format in which Pupi Poisson, Sharonne and Estrella Xtravaganza, guided by supreme deluxe, will tour various points in Spain to give visibility to several LGTBIQ+ stories and show group realities outside the big cities.
On this road trip, the queens come to the call of several people who have made a call for help: people related to the LGTBIQ+ collective who need your support to transmit a message of diversity in their environment, in small towns in Spain. An exciting format with an important and vindictive message after each story
The arrival of the drags will be quite a surprise and a revolution for the locals, who will discover that, beyond the fact that the queens wear heels, dresses or wigs, they promote an artistic movement that stirs consciences and has values as important as integration, freedom of expression or self-love. It will also be a challenge for families and friends, who will throw themselves into each of the stories.
To make each episode special and unique, ‘Queens to the Rescue’ will be broadcast with a monthly periodicity. Thus, each story will be a special event because each story will be very different from the previous one.
Produced by Atresmedia Television In collaboration with Buendia Studies, ‘Queens to the rescue’ has stopped in these first deliveries in Cálig (Castellón), Roda de Berà (Tarragona), Benilloba (Alicante), Landete (Cuenca), Linares (Jaén) and Campaspero (Valladolid). Along the way, personal stories of misunderstanding, non-acceptance, overcoming or forgiveness will be discovered. At the end of each delivery there will be a show that will serve for the protagonists to show their people what they are with pride. A drag show that no one in the region will want to miss.
‘Queens to the rescue’ will also be available outside our borders through the international version of ATRESplayer PREMIUM.
Chapter 1: Hugo, in Roda de Berà (Tarragona)
Hugo has felt like a boy since he has memories and although his family let him express himself freely as a child, when he reached adolescence they tried to feminize his image. Confessing to his parents that he was a trans boy was a nightmare for years that led his father to withdraw the word. Also, in his town they still make fun of him.
He would like the queens to help him close the open wound with his father and regain his self-confidence. He will be accompanied on stage by his father Germán and his trans friend Lucía, who has also suffered aggression and finds in Hugo the mirror in which to look at herself.
