Euskaraz irakurri: ‘Unicorn Wars’ eta ‘The mud demons’ euskal filmak, Annecyko Zinemaldiaren Sail Ofizialean
The Basque films “Unicorn Wars” and “Mud Demons” will be in the Official Section of the Annecy Film Festival, one of the most important in the world for animated films, which begins this Monday, June 13.
Both works will thus develop their world premiere, as announced by Basque Audiovisual.
‘Unicorn Wars’ directed by the Galician Alberto Vázquez and in which EITB participates, is co-produced by the Bilbao company Uniko, and narrates “the ancestral war between bears and unicorns”.
On the other hand, in the same section will compete the film ‘The mud demons’, a work directed by the Portuguese director Nuno Beato. It is an international co-production by the production companies Sardinha Em Lata, Marmita Film, Caretos Film and Basque Films from Bilbao.
It tells the story of Rosa, a hardworking and studious girl who turns out to be the promising element of her company and whose life changes after the death of her only relative, her grandfather.
In addition to ‘Unicorn Wars’, the Bilbao production company Uniko will attend the MIFA International Animation Market with other important projects such as the short film ‘Loop’; ‘El Sueno de la Sultana’, a film by Isabel Herguera in which EITB participates and which narrates three stories that take place in different countries but are intertwined; and a new project they are developing called ‘Nora and the lady of Anboto’.
For its part, Dibulitoon will offer material related to the film ‘Yoko’s Vacation’, with the participation of EITB, which is currently in the production phase, and ‘Winnipeg, the ship of hope’, which is in the development phase and that it is based on a graphic novel written by Laura Martel.
Talka Records and Fermin Muguruza will also attend this important market to seek the necessary financing to finish the film ‘Black is Beltza II: Ainhoa’, in which EITB participates.
