Euskaraz irakurri: Tragedy gainditzeko musika jo nahi du Euskadiko Orkestrak 2022-2023 denboraldian
The American Robert Treviño will continue as director of the Euskadiko Orkestra for an indefinite period of time, in a bid by the Basque symphony and the musician himself to provide “stability” to his project and position the Basque ensemble as a “reference in Europe”.
He will therefore address the program for the next season of the Orchestra, which, under the title “From tragedy to overcoming”, will address works by Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky, Bruckner and Carl Off, among others, and will include a tour of Poland.
Under Treviño’s baton, four of the season’s ten programs will be performed, such as Symphonies No. 8 and No. 15 by Shostakovich, which will serve to open and close the season. He will also be in charge of Bruckner’s Octava and Mahler’s Quinta, in addition to the premieres of “Lorratz”, by Zuriñe F. Gerenabarrena -within the Elkano project-, and “Mare Marginis”, by Ramón Lazkano, with the pianist Alexandre Tharaud as soloist.
During the season, the orchestra will play under the batons of Roberto Forés, Dinis Sousa, Rederick Cox, Chirstoph-Mattias Mueller and Karel Mark Chichon, all of them debutants with the Basque symphony, joined by Pablo González.
In March 2023, the Euskadiko Orkestra will go abroad again, specifically to the Beethoven Festival in Poland, which will take it to Krakow, Warsaw, Katowice and Wroclaw.
In addition, the recordings will continue, with the second volume of the orchestral works by Maurice Ravel, again with the Ondine record company and with Rober Treviño conducting.
