Euskaraz irakurri: Azkuek 1906an argitaratutako hiztegia, Sarean erabilgarri

It is now available on the Internet, thanks to the work of the Aurten Bai Foundation, the “Basque-Spanish-French Dictionary” that the linguist, researcher, priest, writer, president of Euskaltzaindia and musicologist Resurrección María de Azkue published in 1906.

The foundation has been working since 1988 “in favor of the normalization” of Basque, and believes that it is “basic” to guarantee the presence of Basque on the Internet and social networks. This version on-line of the historic dictionary is a further step in that direction.

The search for words in Basque can be done using the current spelling or the one used by Azkue, and the results are displayed in Basque, French or both languages.

The dictionary compiles sources from seven dialects, 302 peoples, and includes citations from 76 authors.
