it is alcohol that accompanies us not only during romantic evenings, when we open it with due diligence with a loved one. He is also drunk in less intimate situations and often outside the home. But how to open his bottle when we don’t have a corkscrew at hand? We know 3 effective tricks for this.
How to open wine without a corkscrew? A shoe turns out to be useful
There are situations when we want to drink wine, and we are surrounded by nature and we do not have a corkscrew with us. Then it can come to our aid. How? It’s easy:
- Take off the shoe and then put a bottle of wine in it.
- Find a stable point: vertical wall, wall, or tree.
- With one hand, grasp the bottle in the area where the bottle expands, and with the other hand, support the shoe so that it does not slip off the bottle.
- Gently but dynamically tap the bottom of the bottle in your shoe against a vertical surface.
- The cork should pop out by itself.
However, you should be very careful, because hitting too hard may break the bottle in our hands.
How to open wine with a lighter? It’s easier than it sounds
Another way to open a wine without a corkscrew is to properly warm the space between the wine and the cork. The best tool for this task will be a kitchen burner, but a lighter will also work. Let’s put our bottle on an even surface and put it against the neck of the bottle in the place just below the cork, but above the surface of the wine. While the neck is reheating, gently turn the bottle so that the hot temperature is evenly distributed. After about a minute, you should notice the cork coming out of the bottle.
Can the corkscrew be replaced? We can try a threaded bolt
This way of opening the bottle will be great for DIY enthusiasts. A well-equipped toolbox with a long threaded screw will help. We screw it into the center of the wine cork so that it stays firmly in it. Then we will use a hammer with a nail removal tip or pliers. All you need to do now is to pull hard on the protruding part of the screw and tear the plug out.
