the contest Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year 2022a major food photography competition, revealed its winners on Wednesday.
According to its organizers, thousands of images from more than 60 countries participated.
Those selected were announced in a live event streamed online.
The overall winner of the competition was the photographer Debdatta Chakrabortyoriginally from India.
The image you submitted is titled kebabiyana and shows a street vendor preparing several skewers in front of a smoky oven in Srinagar, also in India.
Chakraborty took the photo on a busy street as vendors fired up charcoal ovens at night.
“In today’s world, more than ever, we feel the need for comfort, for love,” said Caroline Kenyon, founder and director of the awards.
“There is so much calming here: the billowing embrace of the beautifully captured smoke, the golden light, the subject’s expression as he prepares food to share. Sparks fly from the skewers, whose roasting we can almost smell. We envision the warm, delicious scent,” she added.
