The recording from the Kiev bunker, in which Amelka performs the song “I have this power” (more specifically – “Все одно”, the Ukrainian version of the hit “Let It Go”, was circulated in foreign media at the beginning of March and became a heartbreaking symbol of the war in Ukraine. The recording shows that some of the adults staying in the shelter could not hold back their tears during Amelka’s performance. Her voice did not tremble. “I was a little ashamed, it was in the evening, so I could be tired. it was my dream. The only thing that did not match was that I was in a basement, not on the stage. But I imagined that I was on the stage, that there were thousands of people there, “she later told journalists. The famous recording can be seen here:
Little Amelka sang the national anthem of Ukraine
To the girl. “Dear little girl with a beautiful voice, my husband and I wrote this song as part of a story about the healing of a suffering family. The way you sing it is like a magic trick that spreads light in your heart and heals everyone who hears it. Keep singing. ! We are listening! ” – she wrote.
In March, Amelka arrived in Poland safely with her grandmother and brother, 15-year-old Misha. Her parents, Lila and Roman, stayed in Kiev. They prepare meals for the city’s defenders. When the recording with Amelka circulated the network, her mother in an interview with the media admitted: “I think Kyiv will defend itself and we will win. Only at what price? How many more children must die? Children should play and happily sing songs from ‘Kraina ice ‘, but because of Putin they have to hide in underground bunkers. ” She also added: “I always knew Amelia was very talented, that she is a sweet angel, and now the whole world knows it too.” But it’s a tragedy that she became a star because of so much death and destruction.
On Sunday, December 20, Amelka stood on the Lodz stage of Atlas Arena to sing the Ukrainian anthem during the concert “Together for Ukraine” (). Her performance opened with an event – it was accompanied by the sight of hundreds of lights raised up – the audience raised them up in honor of Ukraine.
