“The King’s Man: The First Mission” shows a new teaser with interviews

The King’s Man: The First Mission marks the return of director Matthew Vaughn to the spy franchise based on the comic by Dave Gibbons and Mark Millar, after the sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle which was released in 2017. The prequel will show the origin of the elegant British secret service, contextualized in its origin, at the beginning of the 20th century and with the world war i background. Vaughn, apart from being a wide connoisseur of this universe having directed the two previous installments of Kingsman, is also an expert in creating interesting origins as it could be seen with the formation of the first school of young mutants in X Men First generation.

The official synopsis is somewhat brief, but it explains the context and development of its starting point: “As a collection of the worst tyrants and criminal minds come together to plan a war that will end millions of people, a man must act against the clock to try to stop them. Discover the origins of the first independent intelligence agency in ‘The King’s Man: The First Mission’ ”. The teaser mixes footage from the film with various cuts from interviews with the director and cast members. In one of those cuts, Mathew Vaughn mentions that the film is really an origin story, the basis of the Kingsman franchise. The director himself already declared to Empire in an interview that this prequel will show the seeds that we can later see in the long-awaited Kingsman 3.

Absolutely nothing is known about the hypothetical third installment of the film, only the rumors and statements of the director himself. For his part, Mark Strong would love to return with his character, however he died in Kingsman and the Golden Circle. The hope of seeing him again is that within the universe there have already been much more radical resurrections like that of Colin Firth’s character.

The King’s Man: The First Mission will be released in December 2021 in theaters, after several delays due to the pandemic. The story is starring the 2-time Oscar nominee Ralph Fiennes as the Duke of Oxford, a seasoned agent, and rookie assistant Conrad, played by Harris Dickinson. Also appear Gemma Artenton, Djimon Honsou, Stanley Tucci, Daniel Brühl y Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
