The first of the upcoming premieres is “Ambulance” – a proposal from the master of action cinema Michael Bay. This is the story of brothers who rob a bank and do it for a good cause. The stakes are high, with $ 32 million at stake. However, their escape ends in a spectacular failure. Desperate brothers kidnap an ambulance with an injured policeman assisted by a paramedic. Will and Danny run from the entire Los Angeles Police, they have to keep a hostage alive and try not to kill each other somehow …
The second premiere is an offer for the whole family. The film “Too Big for Fairy Tales” tells the story of Waldek, a ten-year-old absorbed in the world of computer games with an overprotective mother by his side, who keeps him under a shade. However, everything changes with the appearance of an eccentric aunt Mariola in his life. Waldek stays under her care during the absence of her mother, who is struggling with a serious illness. From now on, the boy’s life will have to take on a slightly different pace … Friendship put to the test, first love, the hardships of growing up, a gaming tournament, and if that was not enough – adults who know everything best.
Some cinemas will also feature “Other People” by Aleksandra Terpińska – a story about a desperate search for love. At first glance, Kamil (Jacek Beler) and Iwona (Sonia Bohosiewicz) have nothing in common. Iwona is a bored and unhappy wife of Maciek (Marek Kalita), living in luxury on credit. Kamil is 32 years old, sexy girl Anecia (Magdalena Kole¶nik), but still lives with his mother (Beata Kawka) in a housing estate, dreaming up a rapper’s career and catching random jobs. The relationship with Iwona is seemingly irrelevant, but thanks to her, both of them will see their life choices and the people around them in a different light. The everyday life of the characters is carefully monitored and described by the narrator (Sebastian Fabijański).
Not only premieres
Helios’ repertoire still includes the latest production from Disney / Pixar “To nie wypanda”. The world has gone crazy about it, and the critics agree that it is one of the best animations of recent years. The main character – Mei Lee – is a resolute 13-year-old girl who is going through a period of adolescence. She is no longer on the way with her overprotective mom. She wants to be independent and be able to decide on certain matters that are important for a girl her age …
Helios also offers family screenings for Ukrainian viewers. Continuing the series of free screenings in Ukrainian, the network invites you to another screening in the company of the heroes of the film “LUCA” from Friday, March 18th. It is a beautiful story about friendship, strength and perseverance in pursuing your dreams, regardless of age, and the viewers will be additionally warmed by the sun of the Italian Riviera, where the film takes place.
What about the elders? The Dark Knight has returned to the screens in a big way, as did Robert Pattinson, who played the title role. Fans around the world welcomed the film itself with great enthusiasm, as evidenced by the cinema attendance. Questions arise as to whether it is not the best Batman movie. “Batman” by Matt Reeves is a dark story in the style of a classic crime noir showing Gotham soaked in corruption, and he places Batman as the ruthless avenger and the best detective in the DC universe. When going to the cinema, the viewers will be on a three-hour dark journey accompanied by an amazing soundtrack enriched with, among others, Nirvana’s famous song “Something in the Way”. The production will also be shown in the Ukrainian version in selected cinemas (paid screenings, for adult viewers).
For the adventurous and the treasure hunt of Magellan Helios invites you to an adventure accompanied by Nathan Drake and “Sully” Sullivan in the movie “Uncharted”, which is an adaptation of one of the most popular games of recent years. On March 17, as part of the Available Culture series, the equally thrilling film “Furia” will be presented, the protagonist of which is Aleksandra Rola – an uncompromising MMA competitor who defeated all her opponents in Poland within a year. It is a documentary about dreams and meeting your goals and the price you have to pay for it.
In the hall with Almodovar or Oscar-winning favorites
On March 21, the film “Parallel Mothers” will be shown in the Koneser Cinema series. The newest film by Pedro Almodóvar presents the story of two single women and mothers-to-be who meet in the hospital on the day of childbirth. It might seem that their paths will barely intersect, while the bond that will bind them will turn out to be very strong. As it happens with Almodóvar: coincidence can become destiny, and a family by choice can become the one that offers unconditional acceptance and love.
Just before the ceremony of presenting the most prestigious film awards, Helios invites you to the one and only Oscar Night Marathon. During one night (from 25 to 26 March) three films will be shown, which will compete for 20 statuettes in total: “Dune”, “King Richard: The Victorious Family” and “Drive my car”. Viewers can spend eight hours in the company of the biggest stars of the big screen.
