On Thursday, February 24, at 3 a.m. Polish time, Russian troops attacked Ukraine. The soldiers struck both from the ground and from the air. The Ukrainian army is resisting tough, but the situation is changing minute by minute.
Since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, 1.893 million people have come to Poland. Some of them stay in our country, some go to further parts of Europe. They can reach Germany, for example, from the Central Railway Station in Warsaw, from where an express train goes to Berlin. There is also an emergency refugee center, the city runs reception points, special centers, hostels and youth hostels are involved, and a lot of private people help. As reported in the media, one of them is the group’s singer
Rammstein’s vocalist helps refugees from Ukraine
The situation in Berlin is very difficult. Franziska Giffey, the mayor of Berlin, reported that the city is at the limit of its capacity to accept refugees from Ukraine. “We are dealing with an extremely dynamic development of the situation during the week: at the beginning we were admitting 45 people, now there are more than 10,000 of them every day. This is a huge challenge that we are trying to overcome by various means. At the moment, we will only be able to do it together. however, we are getting closer to the limits of our capabilities, “said an official in the” Morgenmagazin “program of ZDF station.
A lot of volunteers work at the Berlin train station, and Lindemann was also spotted among them. The musician does not stop at symbolic gestures and assurances that he would like to play a concert in Kiev as soon as possible. He turns out to be a man of action, as described in an extensive entry by a woman named Alisa, who fled the capital of Ukraine.
She arrived in Berlin with her friend Tanya. “We were looking for a place to stay in Berlin to be able to safely wait for the departure of the plane. The volunteer told me that all of Berlin is crowded, there are no places. But they have built a large refugee tent near the station and you can stay there. I am sick and I want to cry.” We approach the next volunteer and explain the situation “- he reports.
Then Till Lindeman unexpectedly appeared with his manager Jessica:
I can’t believe that in front of me, in the middle of this apocalypse, stands the vocalist Rammstein in a fashionable coat, no less fashionable shoes and a cap with the @mozgiband logo [ukraiński zespół muzyczny – przyp. red]. She has terribly nice and beautiful eyes.
“The volunteer says Till will put me in a hotel … I don’t quite understand what’s going on. Till and Jessica take us to a hotel, to a beautiful hotel. They pay for the room and put 50 euros in a bag for dinner. Jessica also gave her number. and told me to call if we needed anything, “she describes the situation further. According to her account, Lidemann was very embarrassed when, crying, she kissed him three times:
I confessed to him that I used to love Britney Spears, but now I love Rammstein. He laughed sincerely. As a thank you, I invited him to my friends in Cyprus. And he only replied that his help was needed here.
Lindemann did not stop there. Together with the artist Marek Jung, they put up for auction a joint painting with an anti-war message. The graphic shows a dove of peace splattered with colored paint, at the top of the painting there is an inscription “Please for Peace 2022”. The lower part of the work is decorated with autographs by Lindemann and Jung.
The painting can be auctioned by e-mail until March 20 – it reports that bids for several thousand euros were submitted in just a few hours. All the money will be donated to a charity organization that helps refugees from Ukraine.
Rammstein is very popular in both Ukraine and Russia. Shortly after the outbreak of the war, the musicians issued a statement condemning Russian aggression. “At the moment we are particularly saddened by the suffering of the Ukrainians. Each member of the band has different experiences from both countries; all the musicians have friends, colleagues, partners and fans in Ukraine and Russia. We realize that many Russian fans may be disappointed with the actions of their government and we want to remember the humanity inherent in the citizens of Russia and Ukraine “- they emphasized.
The Russian war against Ukraine continues. From the first hours of the attack, defenseless civilians are dying, and the Russians systematically attack towns and villages. The damage is huge. Millions of refugees are trying to get out of a war-torn country. Needs are increasing hour by hour. That is why Gazeta.pl joins forces with the Polish Center for International Aid (PCPM) Foundation to support humanitarian aid for Ukrainians and Ukrainians.
