On Thursday, February 24, at 3 a.m. Polish time, Russian troops attacked Ukraine. The soldiers struck both from the ground and from the air. The Ukrainian army is resisting tough, but the situation is changing minute by minute.
Jacek Chrzanowski, Krzysztof Grabowski and Robert “Robal” Matera, musicians of the band Dezerter, decided to help the victims of the Russian war in Ukraine. They did it in the best way they could. They recorded a very symbolic song “IDI”, in which they quote the famous statement of Ukrainian soldiers defending the tiny Island of Snakes.
A deserter hits Putin with a new song
“None of us expected that, instead of waiting in spring, we would wait for the end of the war. As a band, we decided to speak out on this very important and tormenting issue. We can do so much. We spend the income from playing the song ‘IDI’ for this good cause. So listen as much as possible, so that as much as possible is collected “- appeal members of the band Dezerter.
The total income from playing the song on streaming services and on YouTube will be transferred to the account of the Salvation Foundation and will be fully transferred to refugees from Ukraine. Regardless of the single, you can still transfer money to the foundation’s account. The team also encourages you to support activities for people escaping from the war and provided a list of verified fundraisers
The cover of the single features artwork by Jon Berkeley, who lent the rights to it especially for this musical premiere. The audience accepted the artists’ initiative with great approval. Under the video they say “Dezerter proves once again that he is a unique and needed band”, “Gentlemen, as always, on point. Your musical bullets are invaluable”, “Great track, I will play over and over”, “Two and a half minutes of truth”, “Thanks for the quick reaction. Simple message and on the point. Nothing to add, nothing less. A defector, as always, is equal to the task”, “A piece of good note in a bad world”, “Hit, sunk”.
If someone would like to sing along with Dezerter, we present the lyrics of the song “IDI” below:
The message will be simple
Because the matter is simple
Botox dictator
This world is not yours
This world is not yours
Иди на хуй!
The world is watching you
With contempt and fear
Botox dictator
This world is not yours
This world is not yours
Иди на хуй!
There is nothing to add here
We wish you the worst
Botox dictator
This world is not yours
This world is not yours
Иди на хуй!
I cannot comprehend
What’s in your head
A nest of rabid snakes
Paranoia or delusions
Bloody dictator
Your end will be near
When the tears of your victims
They will turn into missiles
