The production of “New Amsterdam” will officially end in five seasons. The last one is to count 13 episodes and premiere in the United States in the 2022/23 season. NBC bosses said in a statement:
The story of Max Goodwin and his never-ending commitment to patients at New Amsterdam was inspiring. We are very grateful to David Schulner, Peter Horton and our cast and crew for their incredible dedication, talent and collaboration.
At this point they are airing the fourth season, “New Amsterdam” will end after the fifth season
Max Goodwin is a character inspired by Eric Manheimer.
The medical series “New Amsterdam” debuted in 2018. The cast includes Ryan Eggold, Freema Agyeman, Janet Montgomery, Jocko Sims, Anupam Kher and Tyler Labine. In 2020 – during the broadcast of the second season – it was decided to give “the green light” to the implementation of the third, fourth and fifth immediately. At the moment, the Americans are in the process of following episodes of the fourth series – the last of which is scheduled for May 24. In Poland, the third season can be watched on the FOX channel and in CANAL + online.
Last year, the slogan “New Amsterdam” was found.
Fans have to hope that someone will decide to take over the production of the next episodes. It was successful, for example, in the case of “Lucifer”, which, after falling off the FOX station schedule, became a great hit of Netflix and lived to see the next seasons.
