It’s no secret that Russian propaganda isolates Russians from what is actually happening in Ukraine. Journalists do not use the word “war” but “special military operation”. In turn, President Zelenskiy and his associates are called Nazis.
It turns out, however, that not all Russian media employees think this way. On Monday, a woman ran into the main station’s studio while recording the news with a banner about the war in Ukraine. This is Marina Ovsiannikova, a journalist working at a Russian station.
She came in with an anti-war banner during the news program
On the piece of paper the woman is holding in front of her it says:
Stop the war. Don’t believe the propaganda. They lie to you. Russians against the war.
The woman previously posted a recording on the network that was shared on his profiles on social media, among others, Mikhail Khodorkovsky – a former Russian billionaire, critic of the Kremlin. Owsiannikowa says on it that her mother is Russian and her dad is Ukrainian. He also adds that “for 10 generations we will not stop the disgrace of this war.”
– I am ashamed that I allowed the lies told on TV screens, that I allowed the zombification of the Russians. We sat quietly when it all just started in 2014, he says in the recording.
She faces 15 years in prison
Owsiannikov was to be arrested and taken to the police station. She faces up to 15 years in prison. Unfortunately, several hours after the incident, there is no contact with the woman. As reported by employees of the human rights organization OVD-Info, they are currently unable to locate it.
