The album includes 13 songs, including “Freight trains”, thanks to which Jakub Skorupa was hailed as the hope of 2021, when he took 3rd place on the podium of the Sanki plebiscite. In addition, the album also includes singles such as “Głuchy Telefon”, “Barbórka”, “Holidays and Rain” or “Yoga “featuring Patrick The Pan. The album was produced by Kuba Dąbrowski.

“Notebook One”, a melancholy Silesian reflecting on life

Jakub Skorupa, born in ’86, is a vocalist, guitarist and songwriter from Silesia – out of his passion for combining musical genres and life experiences. His music can be described as a melancholic mix of rap narrative with an alternative sound. For several years, he has lived and worked in Gliwice, and the atmosphere of Silesian landscapes echoes in his work.

Music has been flowing in his veins for a long time. He has been writing songs for as long as he can remember, and as a teenager he played guitar in the boar band Starvin ‘Marvin. Before he became permanently involved in music, however, he tried his strength in many areas. He poured beer at mining feasts, traded cars, and even wrote the play “Życie torment”. A few years ago he moved to London, where in a large corporation he was responsible for creating animations for well-known international brands.

Longing for music meant that he wrote a quote from the corpo in verse and returned to Poland to create music. As he says, he observes reality and tells about what he sees and feels through simple songs. “Freight trains” have become its hallmark. In 2021, the piece secured him the third place in the “Sanki” plebiscite of “Gazeta Wyborcza”, while Skorupa itself was hailed as the hope of the year.

The last song promoting “First Book” is “Colleagues”; the author of the video is Jakub Skorupa. The album is only available for sale online.
