Beste Bat Berritzen call: 1.5 million euros to promote live arts and cinema

The Minister of Culture and Language Policy of the Basque Government, Bingen Zupiria, presented today in Vitoria, at a press conference, the call Renewing Another.

The program, which was carried out last year, aims to support the recovery of the live arts and cinema sector after the consequences caused by the pandemic: “The objective is to intensify the arts programming in I live and the cinema, thus influencing the professional activity of all the agents of the sector (creators and creators, as well as scenic and musical groups, and very especially programmers) “, explained Zupiria.

To this end, the Basque Government will provide 1.5 million euros for live arts programs (1,300,000 euros) and European and / or Latin American cinema exhibition programs (200,000 euros) that are carried out in the period covered by last quarter of 2021 and the first of 2022.

Live arts

The requirements to apply for these grants are to have programs for the exhibition of theater, dance, circus, bertsolaritza and music; that the shows and concerts are programmed by Basque companies or professionals; and that the programming projects presented have at least five shows or concerts.

All those shows and concerts presented on a textual basis must be at least 60% in Basque. The performances will be scheduled from Monday to Thursday, except in towns with a population of less than 20,000 inhabitants, where the programming may take place any day of the week.

The schedule may run from October 27 to March 31, 2022, and those interested in applying for grants must have their registered office in the Basque Autonomous Community, and be owners or managers of spaces in the Basque Autonomous Community where they are do live arts programming.

Each show will be credited with an aid never exceeding 3,500 euros or 4,000 euros if the gender criterion is applied.

Who

With regard to cinema, programming projects will be supported with at least 10 films scheduled for theatrical release or in the four weeks after their release. The programming will run from October 27 to March 31, 2022.

In addition, only those films with nationality in the European Union or Latin America will be taken into consideration.

The financial aid will never exceed 2,500 euros for each film, the maximum amount corresponding to each beneficiary entity rising to a maximum of 25,000 euros.

Procedure

Those interested must submit their applications before November 29.
