Jacinta, Ines, Maria Isabel and Anawho are part of the program De Prati Women Garment Makers (2020-2021), wish share your work and self-help story with other Ecuadorians that, perhaps like them, are looking to make their way professionally, an objective that they managed to achieve thanks to this initiative.
Thus, the four have inspired the free exhibition organized in the De Prati store in the shopping center Piazza Navona and what will take place from March 5 to 13 in the framework of the celebration of International Women’s Day.
The program Women Apparelexecuted in partnership with the Solidarity Action Foundationsearch train women in vulnerable areas in sewing and dressmaking techniquesproviding them with tools that promote their personal development, promoting self-confidence and labor and economic independence for their own well-being, that of their families and the community, with a scope, so far, of 890 women from three different cities.
“Not only did I learn about sewing, but I also learned to trust myself and my abilities”, he comments Jacinta Azucena Sellan37 years old, who thanks to his training in this program managed to implement a small workshop in his own house, equipped with three machines, where it makes personalized pajamas.
Your partner on the show, Ines Angela del Valle Alay30 years old, confesses that From a young age she was attracted to the world of fashion and clothing and that thanks to this program he was finally able to learn about the various techniques and styles of today. “There are many benefits that I obtained thanks to the training. One of them is that I have been able to pay for my household expenses, I have my own money and I don’t depend on anyone”, he stresses.
Through embroidered worksthe sample will release the faces of the four women and, along with their portraits, attendees will be able to read in detail the testimony of each of them.

Through this exhibition we seek to reflect the strength, independence and empowerment behind each of the women who make up our social program, and who have managed to take center stage in their livesthanks to development of self-confidence and new skills to generate their own resources”, says María José De Prati, director of Social Responsibility.
Together with Inés and Jacinta they will also be Maria Isabel Garcia Rosado38 years old, and Ana Elizabeth Rezabala Garcia41 years old.
“My message is that fight to fulfill your dreams. There are many people willing to help us meet them, like everyone I found thanks to this program. Motivate yourselves to follow courses of what you like the most so that you can learn and undertake their own businesses,” says Del Valle.
“Find opportunities that help you growlike this one that De Prati offered me. Be persevering, reinforce your studies and never give up until they achieve what they want”, agrees Sellán.
