Many farms start with buying more flour, groats or pasta in the first place. Of course, dry products are worth having in stock, but in the absence of electricity or gas, they may turn out to be useless. We will not eat them without proper heat treatment. We advise, therefore, what should be in every home in the event of such events.
Food products with a long shelf life. What is worth having in stock?
Frozen food, yeast or flour will not be useful to us when we cannot use the stove. Therefore, it is worth stocking up on those that we can easily consume if a power or gas failure accompanies us for several days. This is, for example, about:
- food in jars – jams, soups and ready meals,
- cans – with vegetables, fruit, pates,
- canned food – fish and meat,
- dry bread,
- energy bars.

Not working will not be a problem if we buy a camping stove. We can successfully use it to prepare, for example, pasta or rice, and heat other products. In such a situation, however, it is also worth having a supply of water. Its lack can often accompany power failures. For one person per day it should be about 4 liters.
A solution, although a bit more expensive in this case, may also be a power generator for the home, i.e. an emergency power source. It will be especially helpful if it lasts for several days. There is no need to invest in aggregates for several thousand zlotys. Calmly, cheaper models are enough for home conditions. Diesel aggregators are the most frequently chosen ones, because storing gasoline is much easier for them. However, it must be taken into account that these devices are noisy and cannot be placed inside a room.

Some of them do not require that much resources, especially if they last several hours. Therefore, it is worth having in stock for such situations:
- candles,
- matches,
- flashlights,
- batteries,
- charged powerbanks.
