Regular and proper washing of the floor panels will ensure their impeccable appearance and good condition for a long time. For this purpose, however, you should remember about a few rules that will help us in this. Costly preparations are not always needed. They will also work great in the fight against smudges
How to clean the floor panels so that there are no streaks? Remember these rules
Before washing, thoroughly vacuum the surface to get rid of any dirt. The main point to keep in mind is that the panels do not like a lot of water or detergents. So you have to very carefully squeeze the mop from the excess water. It is best to obtain a strip mop, from which it will be easier to drain it. In addition, there is a lower chance that it will leave streaks and scratch the panels with dirt (e.g. sand) that will stick to it.
If you want to prevent streaks, you should also remember the direction in which the floor is washed. You have to do it in accordance with the direction of their arrangement, i.e. along, not across the joints.
Homemade ways to clean floor panels
There are many liquids and detergents on the market designed especially for the panels. You can also prepare a suitable mixture at home. There are:
- 2 tablespoons of vinegar in 5 liters of water (the smell can be neutralized by adding a few drops of essential oil),
- 2 cups of water, a tablespoon of vinegar, 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
These methods will not only clean the panels without leaving any streaks on them, but also make them shine. Finally, you can wipe the whole thing with a dry cloth to polish the panels.
What to clean laminate flooring with? It is important not to damage the laminate
The advantage of laminated panels is their resistance to abrasion and dirt. unfortunately, it visibly settles on them, therefore it is recommended to use antistatic liquids. You can also use the above-mentioned mixture of water and vinegar or with the addition of washing-up liquid. In this case, however, we should not use a strip mop, but with microfiber or preferably a soft microfiber cloth. The damaged laminate cannot be renovated.
