An experience in which the senses will be activated is what it promises Ciné-Dinnera cycle of French cinema and gastronomy that will take place on Wednesdays of each month in the courtyard of the National Cocoa Museum and that will have chocolate as the main protagonist.
This intercultural fusion is a collaboration between hello france, the restaurant Oui Bistrot and the museum, also with the purpose of reactivating the spaces on Panama Street and downtown Guayaquil. “The idea was to propose four different films that have a link to chocolate, either because of the name of the film or the content. This comes from the fact that at Hola France we always use very creative tools for students who are learning French or for the French and Francophone community of Guayaquil”Explain Alice Goy BillaudDirector of Culture and Communication.
The Ciné-Cena cycle is made up of four sessions, which are held on a Wednesday of each month. The first meeting was on February 16, with the screening of the film La Buche (1999). The next session will be this Wednesday, March 9, with the film Le Chocolate (2000), from Lasse Hallstrom, what features a woman who opens a chocolate shop in a French town.
The third appointment will be on April 6 with Les Emotifs Anonymes (2010), a romantic comedy that takes place in a chocolate shop. And the film that will close the cycle will be Chocolate (2016), on May 4, whose protagonist is an Afro slave.
“We try to cover all the senses of chocolate, be it gastronomic or cultural”mentions Goy, who affirms that all the tapes will have a translation into Spanish.
You can accompany your movie with two types of menus. The first has a cost of $25 and consists of a main course, which includes a cheese board and homemade sausages, accompanied by fresh salad, homemade bread and papa cecilia confined in butter; all this with a glass of red wine sangria and a cake dessert ganache of chocolate and coulis of red fruits. There is also a vegetarian option for the same price.
The other menu is a simple one, at $10, which contains a basket of fries plus a glass of sangria.

The food is served after the first fifteen minutes of the film. “The service is in silence and at the same time with great pleasure. The first time it was nice to see how the idea we had was born and realized… So, they are enjoying the movie and at the same time eating their dinner”describes the manager.
In addition, before each function, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., participants have exclusive access to night visits to the museum.
To attend one of the sessions, you just have to fill out a registration form available on the @holafrancegye and @museocacao networks. Payments are made in person or by bank transfer. The next session will be this Wednesday, March 9, at 7:00 p.m. (I)
