The Gaylesbitrans Bilbao International Film and Performing Arts Festival, Zinegoak, will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Arriaga Theater in Bilbao, and the opening ceremony can be followed live via streaming on the EITB Media website. Argentine filmmaker and activist Albertina Carri will receive the honorary award and you can also enjoy the performance of the singer Olatz Salvador.
Average EITB will be an ally of the 19th edition of Zinegoak, which will be held on February 28 as of March 7, 2022. The audiovisual group will sponsor the Zinegoak Grand Prize valued at 4,000 euros, which will be awarded to the best film in the official section. In addition, it will offer the festival’s opening and closing galas live, and will closely follow all its news.
Zinegoak’s objective is vindicate sexual and gender diversity through cinema and culture, with screenings of films and short films in different theaters in Bilbao. All the films in the official section will compete to win the Zinegoak Grand Prize. The winners will be announced at the closing gala to be held on March 7 in the Bilborock room and which can be followed live on eitb.eus.
This edition of Zinegoak will vindicate the need to show off, rebrand and identify oneself to open up to the world, without imposed labels. Along with film screenings, the festival’s program includes performing arts pieces, spaces for reflection and debate, meetings between professionals and with representatives of other festivals, and master classes for students of audiovisual centers.
