Known as “” Shimon Hayut posed on social media as Simon Leviev. Thus, he pretended to be the son of the Israeli businessman Lev Leviev, who is commonly called “the king of diamonds”. The name he assumed helped him to deceive subsequent victims into large sums of money. The family of a real businessman decided to clear his name and get the fraudster punished for his lies and scams.

The “king of diamonds” family sues a Tinder impostor

Chagit Leviev – Lev Leviev’s real daughter – said in a statement to the media that Simon Hayut was “an impostor who stole her family’s identity and tried to use her good name to trick the victims into millions of dollars.” He also reminds that he is not related to the LLD Diamonds company, nor is he related in any way to the Levievs themselves. As reported by the portal, the family in the lawsuit argues that it was deliberately creating the appearance that it was otherwise. “He even used the LLD Diamonds trademark to make his victims believe that he was part of the diamond company (and specifically the president, as his signature suggested), and a member of the Leviev family,” the lawsuit quoted.

Papers to the Israeli court were sent on March 1. Moreover, this lawsuit is only the first step of many more that the Leviev family have planned to get the Tinder cheater to be brought to trial and receive the sentence he truly deserves.

The Netflix documentary “The Tinder Cheater” made a lot of noise about Shimon Hayut, who extorted a total of about $ 10 million from his victims. Recall: on Tinder he pretended to be Simon Leviev, the son of Israeli businessman Lev Leviev. He told other women he met through the dating app that he was a millionaire and worked for the family business LLD Diamonds. He created credible productions: he took them to five-star hotels, funded flights on private jets and made dinners in the most expensive restaurants.

He also surrounded himself with a group of associates who named themselves, inter alia, for his accomplice, the mother of his child or the bodyguard (and confirmed his version of the event. Meanwhile, all these luxury attractions were financed by money that Hayut swindled from other women. The scammer organized a kind of a financial pyramid.

First, he made women fall in love with himself methodically, and then he persuaded them to give him cash and credit cards, telling him that his life was in danger. Although he was brought to trial for fraud, he only served five months in an Israeli prison out of the fifteen he was sentenced to.

Now he is leading a comfortable life, free from all debts (). Together with a new girlfriend, a model, he lives in a luxurious apartment in Israel. In addition, he signed a contract with the same Hollywood agent who represents, among others Mom is June. He tries to get his own dating program and uses his name recognition to sell, inter alia, T-shirts with the words “If he really loves you, he will take a loan for you” or “my enemies are chasing me.” In addition, he also sells dedicated recordings for his fans for around $ 200 and has released the NFT collection.

Hayut in an interview with “Inside Edition” maintains that he is innocent. “I’m not that monster. I was just a lonely guy who wanted to meet girls on Tinder. I want to clear my name, I want the world to admit that it’s all not true,” he insisted stubbornly. Hayut banned from Tinder for his cheating after the movie was released, and cannot use other dating sites.

The “king of diamonds” and his family want justice for the victims

So the Leviev family decided not to let go. The president of Leviev Group USA, Chagit Leviev, in an interview with Page Six said that her family business has been operating for 40 years. During this time, she supplied rare and unique diamonds to jewelers all over the world, and also supplied jewelery to crowned heads from all over the world or to movie stars such as Salma Hayek and Charlize Theron. Shimon Hayut has done a lot to damage the family and its business with his frauds.

Chagit relates: “I am very relieved that his true identity and crimes have been publicized globally. I hope this will put an end to his wicked activities.” He also recalls – “News about Simon Levievwa started reaching us in 2017. There are nine siblings in our family, five of whom are brothers. None of his names are Simon.” The family reported the matter to the Israeli police, but Simon moved so frequently that it was difficult to track him down:

The diamond dealers reported to me that he had issued $ 350,000 checks on our behalf, but those were not our checks. We were contacted by a company claiming we owed her 600,000 for private planes. They sent me a photo of his passport: it was in the name of Shimon Hayut.

Although the family had known about the crook for a long time, it was only after the premiere of “The Tinder Cheater” that the Levievs realized how enormous he was acting. Chagit relates: “The truth is, this movie shows only the tip of the iceberg. To live like this, he had to pull on an international scam on a massive scale. There must be so many other victims. We have evidence that he used the services of charter companies. yachts, rented luxury apartments – the list goes on and on. He adds:

Despite the fact that we are a company dealing in the sale of diamonds, we are also victims in this case. We are constantly threatened by him, and joking calls continue. I think Netflix’s movie didn’t show well enough that we have nothing to do with it.

Chagit Leviev emphasizes that she and her family sympathize very much with the victims of Hayut. At this stage, they decided that all potential damages awarded after their lawsuits went to court would be passed on to those who had been defrauded by him. The CEO does not believe that Hayut is trying to pursue a career in Hollywood – He should not be in the entertainment industry. He is an ordinary criminal – he claims.

In this text we write “in Ukraine” instead of the phrase “in Ukraine” to which we are used to. For years there has been a debate as to which form is more appropriate and carries a greater charge of respect for nations (if we say “in France”, “in Switzerland”, why say “in Slovakia” or “in Ukraine”?). Some linguists emphasize that the use of “w” is not linguistically incorrect and depends basically on the will of the speaker or writer.
