Giorgio Armani started the show of his fall / winter collection with a statement. As it turned out, the designer, wanting to pay tribute to the Ukrainians, decided to give up the background music. – My decision not to use music in the show was made as a sign of respect for people affected by the growing tragedy in Ukraine – said the designer.

– I was able to show my heart in the face of tragedy through silence. I didn’t want music. The best way is to signal that we are not satisfied and notice that something disturbing is going on, he argued.
Giorgio Armani was the first designer who decided to show support to Ukraine during the Fashion Week in Milan, which had lasted for several days. Earlier, there were shows of brands such as Prada, Versace or Gucci, which in no way referred to the disturbing situation in Eastern Europe.
The Russian invasion of Ukraine began on February 24 at 4 a.m. Polish time. According to the UN, at least 406 civilians have been injured or killed so far, and neighboring countries have already accepted 520,000 refugees from Ukraine.
