“Squid Game”, the hit of Netflix from South Korea, is the first non-English-language series to be appreciated by the Actors Guild – three times! The individual awards were received by Lee Jung-jae and Jung Ho-yeon, and the stunt cast was also appreciated. Thus, “Sukcesja” shown on HBO GO, despite five nominations, received only one statuette.
The SAG Awards gala was also exceptional for another reason. Troy Kotsur became the first deaf actor in history to be awarded by his colleagues. The guild appreciated his role in the movie “CODA” (you can watch it on Apple TV +) – the story of a young girl who loves to sing and is the only person in the family who hears.
