On the latest album, Glasper collaborated with the most powerful voices of the so-called contemporary “black music” (Killer Mike, Ty Dolla $ ign, D Smoke, PJ Morton), the most important songwriters and performers of the last 30 years (Ledisi, Common, Gregory Porter, Musiq Soulchild, Indie.Arie). “Black Radio III” is also a testimony of the times. This is Glasper’s most direct confession of frustration, missed opportunities, and profound social change.

Robert Glasper has received nine Grammy nominations. It has been awarded four times for: Best R&B Album, Best R&B Song, Best R&B Performance, and Best Compiled Soundtrack to the Visual Medium. The artist also won an Emmy for his work on Ava Duvernay’s documentary “The 13th,” starring Common and Karriem Riggins.

The 43-year-old from Houston released the album “Black Radio” in 2012, which made his debut in the top ten of the best albums list in four different categories: Hip Hop R&B, Urban Contemporary, Jazz and Contemporary Jazz. This feat was then repeated on the album “Black Radio II”. The Black Radio series has since become a showcase of Glasper, ensuring him a permanent place among the most outstanding artists of contemporary African-American music, such as Mos Def, Bilal, Ledisi, Kanye West, Jill Scott and Erykah Badu.
