In 2007, the new program “Say Yes to the Dress” had its premiere. In each episode, viewers followed the search for wedding dresses by brides who came to a salon in Manhattan. Now, on TVN Style, Piotr Sałata will lead the Polish version.
We choose a wedding dress. Not necessarily at the altar for the first time
“Poland Wedding Dress Salon” is a perfect “guilty pleasure” program – I used to watch the American version with passion, sometimes I also looked at the British version, which was hosted by David Emanuel (it was he who designed a magnificent wedding dress for Princess Diana), so I’m curious how our Polish one will be presented by TVN Style.
Those who are not afraid of extremes will probably be interested in a completely different wedding program. In March, “Nałogowe brides” will debut on TLC. Its protagonists are four women – Monette, Shae, Amy and Kecia – who together have stood before the altar as many as 20 times. And each of them is ready to say “yes” once again.
We get to know the world
The “Bee Whisperer” will debut on the Discovery Channel. After reading the phenomenal book “The World According to the Bees” by the journalist Sarah Hambro last year, I got a bit tame about my fear of these insects and became convinced that they are fascinating creatures. In the “Bee Whisperer” series, you can watch a team from the American honey bee protection agency, who performs their dangerous but very necessary work for charity.
Apart from typical culinary programs this spring Travel Channel will also show the documentary series “Earthshot Prize: Saving our planet”. One of the leaders is a man of great knowledge and one of the most beautiful voices in the world – David Attenborough, and the other is Prince William, heir to the British throne. The gentlemen and the guests will try to show the viewers that we must act now on the issue of the climate. They will also talk about innovative ways to improve the global climate situation.
Many fans today have true crime series or podcasts. Even whole thematic channels are created for them, such as ID, where you will be able to watch, among others “Runaways. At war with the sect.” Hope, Celeste and Verity are the main characters in this five-episode British documentary series. All three were born in the “Children of God” sect founded by Pastor David Berg in the 1960s on the US West Coast. As time went on, more and more of the emphasis was on sexualization in the movement. Three women recall how they tried to find themselves in a world full of violence and psychological manipulation.
On Discovery Historia, you can watch a program hosted by Drew Pritchard – here it is not completely new, but the next episodes. As the creators announce, Pritchard tells not only about furniture, but also about an unusual BMX bike, a classic model of a Louis Vuitton suitcase or a designer gaming machine in “Ancient Hunters: Iconic Designs”. “In each episode, Drew selects a few items that not only impressed him, but often had a huge impact on culture and global design” – this approach to design seems attractive.
A transformation under the watchful eye of a drag queen
It is definitely worth checking how Alexis Michelle, Jujubee, Thorgy Thor and Bebe Zahara Benet are doing in the new Discovery Life program. The latter won the first installment of the “Ru Paul’s Drag Race” program in 2009, the others are also famous drag queens. This time, however, they will not “dance for survival” on the stage, but help in choosing clothes and changing attitudes to life for the participants of the “Drag Queen Transformation” program.
As you can read in the program description:
[…] Whether it’s a bride who wants to feel beautiful as she walks down the aisle, a former schoolgirl getting ready for a high school reunion, or a woman who is re-learning herself after losing a huge number of kilos. There is no case that the leaders cannot handle!
Let’s hope they will do it with charisma, uniqueness, courage and talent worthy of the participants of “Ru Paul’s Drag Race”.
