Silence at sea, the wind blows … Do you remember that counting-out from kindergarten? Few of us in adulthood have actually faced the difficulties of seafaring (not to mention the ocean). If you want to see what it is like, see “Across the Atlantic”. This is the first such entertainment program in Poland: six participants with two captains and a TV crew set off across the Atlantic on a small sailing yacht. During the voyage, the boats do not call at the port – they go completely alone.

The crew will depart from Gran Canaria. Their journey will last several weeks and end off the coast of Guadeloupe. The formula of the program is extremely simple: on a safe, but not luxurious boat with an area of 30 sq m. it must fit six participants, two captains and a television crew of four. People with different professions, experiences, habits and views will face one, most important task – they will have to cross the Atlantic. How will Maja Hirsch, Antek Królikowski, Natalia Przybysz, Renata Kaczoruk, Piotr “Liroy” Marzec and Zygmunt Mi³oszewski cope in the middle of the ocean? Will they be able to cooperate to reach their destination safely and on time?
The cruise will be supervised by Adam Skomski, yacht and motorboat captain, and Roman Paszke – yacht captain, sailor, winner and participant of many international regattas. Under his watchful eye, all six will have to adapt to life on the ocean. With the help of two experienced sailors, the group of stars will find out what the fight against the element is.

During the day, instead of relaxing, the participants will experience the prose of the marine life: cooking, cleaning, watch at night. Only what they take with them beforehand remains on board. There will be no cell phones, no internet access. Only their own skills, mutual company and cooperation remain. A challenge as big as crossing the ocean changes perspective – even the simplest activities can create conflict. There is no shortage of emotions anyway, because the danger may come unexpectedly. Without a support boat nearby, in dramatic situations only the nearest large vessel will help. One thing is certain – during such an expedition you will surely have plenty of emotions!
One can even risk a statement that we used to associate the story of the journey mainly with “Around the world in 80 days”, and today “Across the Atlantic” has a chance to become a modern interpretation of the classic: “Across the Atlantic, in 20 days without stars”.
The program is based on the Finnish format produced in 2017 by Rabbit Formats. So far, the project has also been implemented in Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden and Norway. The Polish edition will consist of eight episodes. The creative producer on behalf of TVN Grupa Discovery is Marta Więch, the executive producer is Jan Kępiński and Jake Vision.
