The recent storms over Poland, even for a few days. Such unforeseen situations can happen to anyone, so it’s worth being prepared for them by storing adequate supplies. We advise what they should look like in the event of a power, water or heating failure.

Longer power failure? You may find these products useful

In the event of a power failure, the devices, i.e. the freezer, stop working. They can keep it cool even up to a dozen or so hours – the fuller the refrigerator, the longer this time will be. In addition, it is easier for us to keep the temperature in the freezer low if the voids are filled with ice bags.

People with electric cookers will not be able to consume many of these products without heat treatment. Therefore, it is worth having a tourist cooker prepared for such emergency situations, thanks to which we will prepare one-pot dishes. Of course, we should also have dry products in the pantry that we can eat without cooking. Crispy bread, canned meat or fish, canned vegetables, dried fruit, ready meals – it’s worth having these in your sleeve. Remember to regularly check the expiry date of our stocks.

Unexpected lack of water. What stocks are worth having for such a circumstance?

The lack of water, which can often accompany breakdowns, can be equally troublesome. Reservoir water should be stored preferably in plastic containers. For one person per day, we should allocate a minimum of 4 liters, including water, to maintain basic hygiene rules. You should have a supply of water prepared for at least three days.

Heating supply interruptions. How to deal with them?

A failure of the heating network, freezing of water in the pipe leading to the radiator or simply a failure of our heat source can deprive us of heating for up to several days. and socks may not be enough in such a situation. Freestanding bio-fireplace systems powered by biofuels have recently become very popular as an emergency source of heating. The efficiency of such a device is usually approx. 3 kW, which allows for an area of ​​30 m2.
