New York Fashion Week is over and the main trends for fall/winter remain in the photos. In summary, both the colors, the silhouettes and the fabrics have the same purpose: to dress the consumer with that warmth that only the home gives you. Thus, the fashion shows feature garments with a casual, functional and unisex spirit.
1. Light and rich fibers to the touch to feel comfortable
Although people go out more often, they want to bring the comfort of home to the streets. For this reason, “natural fibers such as silk and cotton are widely used,” says Óscar Chunga, creative director of the OCHO brand.
Consumers are betting more on these types of fabrics and fibers that are very light and rich to the touch, explains the designer.
That is why many blankets, sweaters or vests will be seen with these textures or embroideries. This style will also be replicated in bags and accessories.

2. Bone, beige and off-white tones stand out
The most present range of colors for both men, women and children is broken white. “The one we know as ivory or bone,” says Chunga. Likewise, explains Vanity Fair, textiles in beige tones set the standard.
For the spokesperson, the key is in the balance that is achieved by combining it with terracotta tones, pastels (light blue, pink or lilac), blues or olive green accents. “Fashion wants to focus on representing tranquility and happiness,” he maintains.
In Peru, he comments, we apply a lot of artisanal dyeing like in Cusco and the colors that are obtained such as magenta, red, green or yellow are seen on catwalks.
The Carolina Herrera firm is one of those that has preserved vibrant tones such as reds, fuchsias and violets to seduce through elegance.

3. Silhouettes that speak of movement and fluidity
Regarding the silhouettes, Chunga warns that all the cuts are straight, wide or flared. “There are no cigarettes anymore,” she emphasizes.
Ruffles on the sleeves, like dresses with fluid and wavy shapes, evoke that dynamism that several designers want to use as a representation of “modern nomadic tribes”, explains the Vein portal. It is that travel has been the form of escape during the pandemic.
Among the garments that stand out the most, and it will be possible to see them in the Peruvian market, are the maxi vest and the oversized blazer.

4. Prints, lines and rhinestones
The Dior parade is perhaps the one that best describes the trends that will mark this year. The creative head of the firm, Maria Grazia Chiuri, showed neutral colors and sober lines, accompanied by garments with rhinestone details.
The interest in mixing technology and craftsmanship in their designs stands out. “Technological developments now allow us to weave the rhinestones into garments and finish them by hand, to have intricate designs with less wear,” explains the Vein portal.
Although usual prints such as the zebra style will also be seen, the return of the tiger print, in a realistic or abstract form, takes center stage. Their strongest appearance was seen in Italy, but they were also present in New York with Proenza Schouler; and in Paris with Kenneth Ize.
