Public holidays 2022. Here are some tips on how to get three extra long weekends

Every year in Poland we have 13 holidays that we are entitled to. Two such days are already behind us, as they already took place in January. Of course, we are talking about the New Year (January 1) and the Three Kings (January 6). The next ones are coming quite soon, so we suggest how to make the best use of your holiday.

The next days off are waiting for us in April. The 2022 holiday calendar looks as follows:

• April 17 (Sunday) – the first day of Easter,
• April 18 (Monday) – the second day of Easter,
• May 1 (Sunday) – National Holiday,
• May 3 (Tuesday) – May 3rd National Day,
• June 5 (Sunday) – Pentecost (Pentecost),
• June 16 (Thursday) – Corpus Christi,
• August 15 (Monday) – Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
• November 1 (Tuesday) – All Saints,
• November 11 (Friday) – Independence Day,
• December 25 (Sunday) – the first day of Christmas,
• December 26 (Monday) – the second day of Christmas.

This arrangement of days off gives us four long weekends this year: in April, August, November and December. However, we can have even more of them without taking a lot of leave.

You can easily gain three extra 2022 long weekends

We can extend the holiday periods a bit by up to three long weekends, choosing a total of only three days. We have a chance:

• during public holidays – you only need to take Monday 2.05 off
• after Corpus Christi – we have to take a free Friday, June 17th
• during All Saints Day – take Monday 31.10

We have bad news for those who are counting on the holiday on Saturday 2022

provides for additional days off when a public holiday falls on a Saturday. Those who count on more leave on this account will be disappointed. In 2022, we only had the opportunity to collect Saturday off for the New Year in January.
